Sience furlane

Sience Furlane is an audiovisual science outreach production in the Friulian language, made under the auspices of the SSTeF for television and broadcast by RAI Friuli Venezia Giulia in 2008.

The series consists of 4 programmes of 15 minutes each.

In each episode, in the form of an interview conducted by the journalist Giorgio Cantoni and interspersed with explanatory film sequences, a scientific subject is presented for the general public. A closing feature presents a range of texts and websites that may help to explore the subject in greater depth.

The episodes are devoted to:

The Basilica of Aquileia in 3D (an interview with Professor Domenico Visentini of the University of Udine);

Friulian meteorology and severe weather events (an interview with Dr Dario Giaiotti and Dr Fulvio Stel of ARPA FVG);

The chestnut tree in Friuli (an interview with Professor Romano Locci of the University of Udine);

The history of Friulian wine (an interview with Professor Enrico Peterlunger of the University of Udine).

On this page you can watch a taster of the interview with Dario Giaiotti for the episode on meteorology.
